More Updates

There are so many things but just can't remember in sequence. Haha! Getting old.

After the trip to Wild Wild Wet, my skin has been badly scorched. The skin on my face became so dried that it wrinkled up when i cringed my face. Thankfully, it didn't peel much. At first I thought only my face affected since the rest of the body skin was intact. I was wrong. Next in line was my chest. The skin started to peel off. And it was itchy. Then were the shoulders and my back. So itchy.

Then for this first time went to Vivo City last wednesday. BUt din't get to shop since I was meeting for dinner. Met up with Daniel and Desiree. Then went to this shop called the Carnivore. Fantastic place. Their main dishes are just meats. I hear the 'yes' from all the 'beast' out there. The meats are fabulous. I feel like I ate a cow at the end. Enjoy it siah! Oh yah! I remember, morning went to send CLaudia off. She finally can go to Vietnam. Will miss her. Haizzz. Din't know what to give her so I give her what I do best. A bouquet of paper roses. Took me from midnite to 3am plus den I finish. So tired. Then after the send off, went to Suntec City. Then Joanne went to work and 'SOMEBODY' went to buy cheesecake. Heard that "SOMEBODY" went again to buy cheesecake. I wonder what so 'special' about the cheesecake. hehehe..................

Then friday was interesting. Cell was 3 adults, 1 boy and a toddler girl. Hahaha. Me, william, lydia, daniel and anna. Muahahahaha. The rest all not free. Though it was such a small group but it was still enjoyable. The smaller the group, the more time to share more intimate stuff. Hahaha. Thank God for such wonderful partners in ministry and also mentors.

Then today also very busy. Worship Practise then Patient Svc den attend a wake. Then me, darren, hui xian and joseph waited at Seminar room. Then talked a lot of crap. hahaha. Then got one point I went to make Cup Noodles for everybody. Went into the training room to get hotwater. Happen that some of the church pple there also and a conversation started:

Lady:(spotted my cup noodles) Ai yoh! Eat cup noodles arh!

Me: Yup! Cooking for the youths!

Lady: So poor thing! I think you should go get a wife lah!

Me: Yup! Get a wife. More poor thing. Then I will have to make 2 Cups.

Ok lah! I exaggerated the content of the conversation but more or less this was the content. Does a wife = to having good meal??? muahahhahaha!

It is so easy to rally people to have fun but yet so hard to rally people to do serious stuff.

I really appreciate Darren, Hui Xian and Joseph (and also Ding Yi who would love to come but got caught up with Choir) for turning up at the wake. Though we didn't do much but at least to me it means alot because I know this walk with Christ is never alone. Thank you very much! : )

Have a bite

Well recently, the dengue has been up again. And it has caused quite a concern throughout the island. Checks have been ordered in those areas where there have been high cases of dengue. Education through all medias are being broadcast. One mean is slogan.

"They breed, You bleed"

"Bleed for your country, not the mosquitoes" (ARMY)

Haha! Interesting! So I decided to come up with my own slogan in support of this campaign.

"The only sucker in your life is your boss! Don't add one more"

ok! This is just a joke lah! Everybody let's do a part in helping to rid those pest. Let's make Singapore a clean and safe place to live in!

Solitude

Today was Food Trail. I kinda last minute back out as I did not really feel like being 'ra ra' if you know what I meant. Actually just want to stay at home. Then early in the morning got 2 old persons in my house quarrelling. Got me irritated. So decided to go out than stay at home. So went to church. Then happen that Eleanor wanted her fav "wan tan mee" from my house round market. So swing by market, got her the mee and went to church. Reached about 10:15am. The Food Trail was about to start as well. I didn't play but followed William around. Xin Ling also tagged along as she was not well. Quite fun lah! Get to do the mid-station. Then had a lot of fun. After that, went back to church for worship practise. Then went home!

I don't know! Suddenly, that same issue dawns upon me again. I don't know! Is it just a mere natural reaction, just simply a blink or is there more, a wink, a sign, a response? I really don't know! Maybe I should just brace myself up! Maybe it is just simply putting the left leg in front of the right leg and then the right leg in front of the left leg. That simple! Sound so simple but never when done. Lord, if it is Your will, then let the necessary things to fall in place.

Update

Exams over on the 13th of June! What a big relief! This time round the exams are much easier but then again anything can happen. I can only rely on God's grace and mercy. I did my best already!

My first 2 papers were in Expo Hall. As they couldn't get any hall for the last paper, we were transferred to RJC to take the paper. What a hassle! From the east all the way to Bishan. Somemore first time there so blur blur and didn't know where to go. I guess because it's RJC, so also a bit intimidating siah! But shiok siah! The classroom all aircon. Then interesting thing is that the room I was in, got some people scared cold so ask to increase the temp. After a while, somebody start to feel hot den ask to lower the temp. So it went on quite a few times. I was too busy to be bothered about the temp. Haha!
After exams, I quickly zoomed out and headed to Maxwell Market. Having a farewell party to Claudia. She is leaving for Vietnam. So fast! A very lovely and wonderful and sweet sister-in-Christ! Haizzzz..... So sad! Will miss her presence in church. But also very happy for her because I know it was always her wish to be able to go to Vietnam. And indeed it is praise to God for He open the way for her. So after dinner at Maxwell, we went to a tea house. Very cultural siah! Sit inside, take out time to brew the tea and the music really make one so cultured. But the moment I open my mouth! So much about being cultured. Muahahahhahahaha! So we sat there, chit-chat until 10 plus and we left.

The next few days were a big challenge to me. Having a worship symposium. Graham Kendrick and his invited band. Roy on the Bass. Steve on the Keyboard. Gabriel on the Drum. Dave on the Electric Guitar. Raul on the Percussion and Brass. Andre on the Flute and Support Singing. Fantastic. They are all so good. Really learn alot from them. Really can see that they really love the Lord so much by using the gifts the Lord has blessed them with. And the last day, had a practical workshop. First was an hour individual instrument training. I went for the Bass workshop. Roy was doing the workshop. I feel so inadequate. Haha! Then during the Band play, I was totally handicapped. I couldn't hear myself. And the Bass was eccentric. Certain notes were too loud while some are barely audible. Or maybe it's just me lah! Haiz....! The guys also dun know how to critique me. Really xian siah! It just say one thing. I need to brush up my skills!

Then on 18-20 June had a chalet. Shiok siah! Fun and fun and fun. BUt one thing I must learn is to start to do less things. Haha! Delegate is the word! Then 2nd day went Wild Wild Wet! Shiok siah! Den the down side is sun burnt. I was so badly burnt that my shoulders hurt when touched. But I guess this will be last time I am organising Chalet. If you all want, you all go and plan and organise. Next year on, I am looking at travelling. Muahahahaa! Taiwan, here I come!!!

To Or Not To???

Hesitations! Double-minded! God, show me Your way. Speak to me, assure me!

2 in 1

This is very random but I tot it may be very helpful to those who drink only 2 in 1 beaverages or those who drink 3 in 1 but prefer it to be less sweet.
For those 2 in 1 drinker, what do you do when there's only 3 in 1 beaverages? For those 3 in 1 drinkers who will prefer to have the drink less sweetened but yet not having to dilute the drink with more water. Here's the solution:

1) Fill cup with hot water till desired level.

2) Add a bit of cold water. Do not stir

3) Now empty the beaverage powder into the cup. Do not stir.

4) Let the beaverage settled for a few minutes. Do not stir.

5) Enjoy the less sweetened beaverage.

6) At the end of the drink, you will find a layer of sugar.

Loonngggg!!

These few days have been very long. It seems like years. Everybody is gone at the Family Camp! Thinking alot. Studying alot. Can wait for after exams. Worship symposium, Chalet and something........

Michael Card

This guy is fantastic. I like the way he composed his songs. His composition is beyond just merely expressing his love for God. His songs circle around the incidents that happen in the history that talks about God. I have linked 2 of his songs that I liked alot. A Violent Grace and He was Heard. Very meaningful. Both talks about Jesus sacrificing Himself for mankind. I think I will try to get more of his songs. Haha! Enjoy the songs and may it help you to have a more fruitful time with the Lord!

A Violent Grace

A Violent Grace

Michael Card

Hebrews 5:8, 12:2, 13:3

A mural of memories moves by in a blur
His prayers all seem unanswered and unheard
His pleading petitions, his loud cries and tears
A last reprieve will simply not appear

So ruthless He loves us
So reckless His embrace
To show His relentless kindness to a hardened human race
The joy that was before Him
On the Man of sorrows face
And by His blood He bought a violent grace

Most willing of victims and with His final breath
Destroyed the one who holds the power of death
The hate heaped upon Him, scorning all the shame
But all for love He died and overcame

In all of time no one had ever heard
And to the world the thought seemed so absurd
Beyond their wildest dreams no one could ever tell
Of a high priest who would sacrifice Himself

HE WAS HEARD

He Was Heard

Michael Card

Hebrews 9:28

In the days of old the priest would come
With a lifeless sacrifice
While the crowd in anxious silence
Would wait outside
As he entered in the Temple
They only hoped he would be heard
God would give them a tomorrow
And the priest would stay alive

Their only chance, their only hope
Would he be heard
The only way they might be saved
Would he be heard

In the fullness of the promised time
The Final Priest did come
And He offered up a living sacrifice
Now we His children wait for Him
With hope and joyful praise
For we know that God has heard Him
For we know that He was raised

He offered tearful prayers and He was heard
He offered up His life and He was heard

So let us fix our eyes upon
The priest whom God did hear
For the joy that was before Him
He overcame the fear
For once and all He paid the cost
Enduring all the shame
Taking up the cruel cross
Ignoring all the pain

Once again the attempt by SACC did not bring back any medals. We LOST?? Nah! Far from that! We definitely were the winners in many aspects. We sent in 2 teams. The Youth and Veteran Teams. The Youth was the youngest team and the Veteran was the eldest team. Haha! We fought well in our own Group matches. The Youth Team drew the 1st match 0-0 and that spurred us on to take the next 2 games, 1-0 (Jason) and 2-0 (Daniel and Seng) respectively. And with our last game drawn, we took the 1st position of the Group. The Veterans had a tougher time. They were playing with bigger goal post. And even tougher was that their 1st match was against the strongest team in the Group. The Veterans took a bit longer to warm up and bowed down to the opponent 1-3. That didn’t disheartened the Veterans. Once bitten, they bite back 2 times harder. With their experience and hunger, they tore the next 2 teams apart. And little did we know that we had a David Beckham in our midst. Uncle Bryan. His free-kick was pin-point sharp. Once, it floated across the helpless wall, smashed the cross-bar before falling into Uncle Puar’s terrrorising possession. The Veterans fought a hard war. They came in 2nd of the Group. Rejoice! For the top 2 teams of each group will qualify for the quarter-final. However, the inevitable was too soon. We faced each other in the quarter-final. We were relax but we still fought with our best. The Youth took the game 2-0. And we entered into the semi-final. We had great chances but the keeper was in the right place. And they headed in the winner by sheer luck. As there wasn’t any 3rd/ 4th placing, we left before the Award giving. Haha!

After this tournament, it left a lot of after-thoughts. To be honest a lot of which are not positive but I take it as a learning moment. I suppose this is the first time the organisation is holding such a big event. I am sure they had done their best. Just that there were still areas, very visible to us, as being unprepared. The whole tournament start off way late but it wasn’t their problem. There are teams that just cannot seem to make it on time. So when we really started off, they began with a sharing and singspiraton.. This was the first thing that kinda irritated me. The person sharing was in the tent sharing while 20 Teams worth of people were in the hot sun. And to be honest, his sharing was so unprepared. And it wasn’t short to be frank. Lesson learned: You want to lead people, You have to be with where the people are. And that’s in the sun. Then the tournament’s rules were also not understood properly. I was informed earlier that a draw in the game will give a point to both teams. At the game itself, a draw leads to sudden death. I went to check with the organisor and was told that that was the rule. Fair enough if they change the rule but should have informed earlier. Then after 2 matches, the organisor and officials concluded that a draw match is still a point for each team. Haizzzz. Lesson Learned: Planning is important! Communicating is as important!

When the Youth lost at the Semi, we lost with integrity. The opponent cheated. They had 2 teams, and 1 team had already been out of the game. They combined both teams. And worst, is they had the cheek to tell us that they did it. I am not sure to compliment them for their honesty.

It seems like the whole tournament may seem like a frustrating time for me. Nope! In fact, it was so enjoyable. We played better than before. We were superb. The Youth and Veterans. We are getting stronger. The only regret is that I couldn’t play my best position – Goalkeeper. And Marcus did a great job. Clean sheet for 5 matches. Well done Marcus! I believe we have a long way to go and am sure we all will go far. All praises to God!
