Sunday 10 July
Woke up early this Sunday. 7.15am I was awaken. Today I am leading worship in the church svc. Took a bath, change, ate breakfast and left for church. Reach there by 8am. The rest of the team reached shortly after. Gary on the drum, Kevin on the bass, Amelia on Clavi and support singing and me on the guitar and mike. Today the theme is abt Praying in the Spirit. I specifically chose songs that talks about the Holy Spirit. But i didn't know exactly what i had to say or pray. I tried thinking up something to say the nite before but i was just too tired. So I told God that He will tell me what to say. And really thank God because somehow or rather, He gave me confidence even though i dun know wat to say. And as the worship flow, He just bit by bit revealed to me and i just speak. Though there's still for improvement in my language and how i express my self. As for the worship itself, I thank God tat even though with minimum musicians, we were able to carry off and lead the people into God's presence. Though I still not proficient enough to play and lead. Just too hard for me to focus on the guitar, the singing, the leading at one time. And somemore, i'm such a beat-less person. Haha! But still i thank God for His grace. And also thank God for Gary and Kevin who are so professional in their instruments which help to lift up the worship. And also i want to thank God for bringing Amelia into the team. At such a young age, she is already so confident and so motivated to want to worship God. And I'm definitely proud to have her in the team. She is so serious and committed in her role. When she couldn't hear herself in the mike, she will insist with good attitude that she wants to be heard. Praise the Lord!
Then our Senior Pastor, Rev. Wong, touched on today's theme, Praying in the Spirit. To summarise everything, it means to be connected to God 24 x 7 thru the Spirit. In everything tat we do, we keep ourself link with God. It can be done in words, tongues or even silence. We pray to God with our knowledge of language. However there's a limit to our expression in our language and that's when praying in the tongues help us to be more free to express our feelings to God. And also there are times even in our silence we can be connected to God. Just a sign can also be an expression to God if our sign is directed to God. Then there was a time of ministering where Rev Wong brought the congregation before God and encourage them to pray to God with words, in tongues. And many people were touched to tears which somehow brought joy in me (not that i enjoy seeing pple crying but rather joy in seeing God's hands at work) And many people have encountered a new experience with God. Praise be to God!
After 2nd svc worship session, the team and some of the youths went to CGH to makan. Then after meal went back to church and when the svc ended, me and some of the youths (Joanne, Si En, Xin Ling, Jamie)went to Tampines Subway for a snack. Bought 3 cookies for myself and a large drink which we share. And while chatting with them, I can see that the girls are very mature in handling certain issues. I thank God that they could be sensitive in certain issue and dun just brush the issue aside but rather wanting to change the situation. After that, we went our separate ways. I went home and sleep.

6 July 2005
And today was definitely quite a sad day for many, i suppose! A fren has just left Aus for studies. Well I guess it is more than losing a fren temporary for many others. To the Youth Ministry is losing a valuable key role model. To the Church is losing her service and her presence. To the girls, it is losing a Jie Jie. Well i guess people come by and goes away and one thing i learn is that nobody is indispensable. So even as the Church and Youth Min look like have lost a valuable resource but I rather think that she has to go somewhere else for God to mold her and at the same time, God is going to raise up people to fill in her space while she is away. And as for the girls (listen carefully), yes, it may take time to adapt to the new situation where the Jie Jie is no longer there. But I think it is also a good time that you all to start to follow the footstep of your Jie Jie. And that is to be a Jie Jie to the other younger girls. I guess this 1 and 1/2 yrs that when she is away, you can choose to either to wait for the "Return of the Jie Jie'' and be comfortably in her embrace or to rise up and take up the responsibility (which ur Jie Jie did) and do exactly to the younger girls as what ur Jie Jie had done to you. A shepherd boy will never become a true shepherd if all he ever does is to follow behind the shepherd master. Until the shepherd boy starts to shepherd the sheeps by himself, then will he ever become a full shepherd. And i believe that is also the wish of your Jie Jie. So we shall see at the end of the 1 and 1/2 yrs, how much you all have grown without the shepherd master.
Well this event also reminded me of my own opportunity to go Aus to study. I think it was abt 3 yrs ago. But eventually i didn't go. I guess i'm just too afraid to leave my comfort zone and go into an unknown ground all by myself. I'm just a person who is not comfortable or even have phobia of changes and uncertainties. I just dun work well with all these factors. It freaks me out to be alone, initially no frens, unknown to the surroundings, different culture, different people, this and that. As you can see, i'm a worrying freak. I think i will most prob be crying everyday. Haha! Yay! I'm a cry baby too! But i guess one or i would choose to believe to be the reason is that GOd nvr wanted me to go. He intended me to stay behind. And this 3 yrs were very crucial for me. I joined church for a year and thru this service, i learn many things. And also in these last 2 yrs, i see the youth ministry growing and i'm glad to be part of it. When you see and experience growth and revival, it has an impact on your own life.
Hmm! I still want to go Aus! But for a leisure trip. But at the same time I would like to go for a short trip of 3 mths to Cambodia as well. I'm in a dilemma. I will most probably go for either trip after my studies which is like beginning of yr 2007. And most probably i will have onli enough resources to go for one of the trip. Haiz! Why i worry now. Still like got 1 and 1/2 yrs to go. Haha! Worry-Freak. But i still most prob will choose Cambodia. I just love that place. Somehow i feel that i was born in tat country. Haha!

Chinese SOng
Babe
Babe
我只不过想唱歌给你听 用尽我全力
一首歌 只是希望能够让你动心
我只不过想唱歌给你听 就算没反应
没关系 我会唱完这最后一句 我知道 我不是陈奕迅
我的名字叫做 吴克群
(playin the song in the background)
Suddenly, feel very attached to this song. Dun know why? Haha! Some how the lyrics may speak something in my life. Hehe. Well! That's between me and my Creator. Well! I dun have the link to the song yet becoz the website is down for the moment. (most prob banned fr displaying the songs! haha) If the website ever recovers, I will put up the link.

Rise In Price
Oh yah! Another thing. The ice-cream cone from McDonald in S'pore has just been raised from 25 cents to 50 cents. Speculation says that it is due to increase in Oil prices which inevitably causes vegetable oil , used in the making of ice-cream, to also increase in price. Hmmm! How's tat?
GIVE ME BACK MY 25 CENTS ICE-CREAM!
GIVE ME BACK MY 25 CENTS ICE-CREAM!
Aliens died of FOOD POISONING!
Yes! Yes! YOu didn't hear me wrongly. Dun start rolling on the floor. Actualli in fact, i tot this is a beta title than the present one, The War of the World. My goodness! IT'S SUCH A LOUSY MOVIE AND IT'S DIRECTED BY STEVEN SPIELBERG. Wat's wrong with him? Age catching up on him? I have been long waiting for this movie ever since i watched the previews. I tot I'm in for a treat. But no....! Its plot is D-Grade, its special effects look cheap, the aliens are pathetic, human-beings are irritating and well, it just make my day. Once again wasted my money. Well! For those who are reading my blog, you may feel tat i had jus spoilt your day by saying all these. But i guess it's beta than 'spoiling' ur pocket. And i'm sure you will feel justified not to watch this movie after reading.
Ok! Let's start with the plot. The story is about aliens wanting to exterminate the whole earth. Hmmm! Sounds not bad! Then the aliens had a conspiracy. They knew man kind will populated the earth. So intelligently, before human start to live on earth, they came to earth, shovel a few holes, here and there and stuffed their 3-legged drive vehicle into the holes and covered them up. So they waited until 29 June 2005(honestly, i have no idea why they chose this day. Must be some kind of Carnival or Games day for the aliens), they sent their fighters into the 3-legged drive vehicle which was still buried in the ground thru lightning. Cool hah! So then they appeared out of their holes and start vapourishing every human in sight. My! My! That sound exciting. But in fact, i laughed at every scene of the vapourishing. But i just dun get it. If the aliens want to exterminate the earthlings, den why did they wait until the whole earth is populated den start to destroy them. Why didn't they just destroy the first pair of human being? That would save them so much time. And why did they hide their vehicles in holes way before human beings existed? Can't they just send their fighters into earth on the day of its attack? Arent' they afraid their vehicles may become obsolete since it has been buried for so many billion of years? Must be not cheap to park their vehicles in outer space. Ok! There could be an explanation why they onli attack now. It's becoz the aliens feed on human beings so they were waiting for the human beings to grow to a certain size then they start harvesting. Which they did later in the movie. But den why did they start vapourishin human beings at the start of the movie? Maybe I could explain tat. The vapourishing weapon was in fact their cooking appartus. They prefer to eat their food cooked. But i guess human's boiling point is way too low and we get vapourish upon being hit by their cooking device. SO without much choice, later in the movie, they had to resort to eating their food raw. Or maybe they are just like animals. They like to play around with their food before eating them. Hmmm! Either sounds perfect to me! #_#
Then the people in the movie is irritating. Firstly, when the aliens were sent to earth thru lightning, the lightning struck the ground. SO people start to 'kay po' and sight-seeing. Den when the earth crack open, they were still like there looking at it. Come on! Be realistic! People will be freaking out by then. So no need for me to tell you what happen after this. Alien came out start vapourishing them, panick here and there. Then TOm Crusie has to have 2 irritating kids. Her daugther Rachael, does nothing but screamed, screeched, freaked out while his son just act like an idiot. Hmmm! Then along the way comes a man who tries to be garang but jeopordising everybody's lives. Hmmm! ARGGGGGGGGHHHH!
And guess how the movie ended. The aliens died becoz of food poisoning, that's how i will put it. The food that we eat has certain immune system which the aliens can't adapt to. So in fact, they get sick and eventually their immune system failed and die. Woah! That's a cool ending. Actualli i guess the ending which was quite close to it. I tot it got to be the food they are eating. I tot they ate too much McDonald and end up having high cholestrol, den eating up the human beings who are filled with too much fats, illness, dieseases, and whatever you can think of. My! My! Who can survive after eating such unhealthy 'food'? Well i was close to the ending. Crap! If this movie ever fall into the hands of 'real' aliens, we are doomed. This is an ultimate insult to any outer space being if there are any to start with. I'm disappointed. Real disappointed. This is a cheat movie. I say this is just a movie to cash in on the profit. I still remember there's another movie on aliens which is crap too. Mars Attack! But at least the movie was honest. It was a Sci-fi, comical movie. War of the World is a Sci-fi, adventure thriller. Hmmm! Sci-fi. Yes yes . Adventure, well i still can manage to accept that. Thriller, are you sure? Wat's so thrilling? I laughed thru out the movie and not becoz it's funny, it's lame. Ok! I think i have say enough of the movie. It sound pretty interesting, won't you say so! Actualli if you do have the extra money, why not waste it on this movie. Definitely you will get 100% enjoyment in wasting money!

Sat - Mon (25 - 28 June)
Well! Well! Honestly, this June has passed by real quick. It seems like I had not done much and I am starting school in less than a week's time. Haizzzzzz! Just wish I had a bit more time to myself and do some reflections. A lot things on my mind, like why I am who I am, why i do somethings in certain ways, why i react do certain things, why I go into swing mood. And I feel one coming up very soon. Hmmmmm! Ok! (SLAP! SLAP!) XIAN JIE! GOT T O HOLD YOURSELF TOGETHER!
SAT:
Erh! Woke up, den went to do some 'work' at the PC. Den met William and Lydia for lunch. Went to Sarkura at Eastpoint. I really thank God for them, for being such wonderful mentors to me. They are very understanding and encouraging and most of all, wise in the Lord. They are kinda like my Aunt Agony. We meet on quite a frequent basis to update each other on what's happening. Accountability. Many a times, I will just freely pour out my problems and sorrows to them and they will really listen and give wise advise. Well today, updated them that I will be rejoining cell group soon. Need to do some clarification before joining one. And I have decided to join a Chinese Cell. It's going to be interesting. First time, I'm joining a non-English cell. It's going to be a new learning experience and also a chance to get to know the Chinese counterparts. Then after lunch, send Lydia back to church while I and William went off for coffee and tea where we share more intimate stuffs. Haha. Really poured out my heart, my frustration, my sorrow, my whatever lah onto him. Hehe! Me a very troubled boy. Won't go into much detail since it is personal and it most prob bored you out. Den after that, make a quick dash to Eastpoint again to buy birthday cake and Milo den went back to church for Saturday Svc. Today, no Youth fellowship but the YOuths are rostered to help out in the svc. Those who are trained in wheel-chair pushing are tasked to go up to the ward to bring the patients down for svc. I was appointed to bring down this lady , who had a fracture in her leg. She has been in the hospital for a month and is soon to be discharged soon. Then I stayed with her thru the svc and at the end of the svc, prayed for her and send her back to her ward. But she is one real independant person. There are times that she just wheeled herself away. Kinda give me a fright since i'm in charge of her. But den i guess she is just fine. Hehe!
After the svc, we had a debrief den had a birthday celebration. After that, went for dinner with Xin Ling, Yvonne and Jamie at TM food court. Then after that, went to buy fruit den went home.
Sunday:
ok! It's sunday. Svc again! I'm not sayin this with complaints but just tat time flies so fast. I have not even smell finished the weekdays and it's like weekend coming to an end. Haha! Got up and went to church. Attended the Chinese Svc. Rev Yong talks abt Faith, Hope and Love. Taken from 1 Corinthians 13:13, it talks about these 3 things but of all these 3 things, the most important is Love. Den after svc, had a worship practise for the upcoming YOuth Sunday svc. ok did pretty well but i think i had to lower my expectation. I am just being too idealistic. Not tat the teams are not playing well but just tat i have to set my targets at their level. And honestly, i feel communication between me and the muscians are still very weak. But i still give thks to God for everything becoz all things are made possible thru Him. After tat, waited for the 2nd svc to end, meet up with the rest and went for lunch. (Me, Joanne, Amelia, Si En, Xin Ling, Yvonne, Jamie) As usual, it's a painstaking experience. If you get a bunch of girls to decide where to eat, it is traumatising and worst, it is long. And i'm those who dun really like to be bother with making such decisions. SO eventually, i suggested we let the Lord decide. We toss coin. East Point. Food court. So went there and i saw this guy with a large portion of fish and chips and taken by my greediness, i ordered tat. But my portion was like only 2/3 of tat's guy's protion. Most prob the auntie thinks tat i shd be cutting on my intake. haha! Den after the meal, ordered desserts. Joanne ordered Red ruby, Amelia ordered Ice longan, and i ordered Egg beancurd. Den joanne her rubies a bit 'chao sheng'. Soury soury one. So i took the order back and told the auntie. She den took one of the rubies from her bucket and munch on it. After a second or two, she nodded in agreement and say got a bit sour so she say she will change for me using a new batch of rubies. Haha! You shd see the auntie's expression. Darn cute and funny. Nearly burst out laughing. Den i ordered one more dessert. Ginko Barley dessert. Not too bad. SLURP!!!!! After the dessert, went to Popular, buy some stuff and den went home. Took a cab so on the way drop Amelia. Den me reached home, and sleep. Yup.
Monday:
Woke up! Went online but can't remember wat i did. Yes! Yes! I was looking thru this website where they had videos from other countries. Very funny one. Then in the afternoon, went over to CCSS and meet Teng Sheng and Jannah. SUppose to go for movie but T.S not free. So instead we went out just for a meal at BK. Den after tat , went home. And den sleep again. Sleeping alot recently. Woke up for dinner. After dinner, went to sleep again. Haha! THen woke up at 8 plus. Did my exerciese. 1200 skippings and some sets of weight lifting. Hmm! I'm feeling fit. Yah rite. Then here I am updating my blog. Hehe! NOthing much happened today. HOnestly, as i say early on, feeling a bid down. Think tat something is goin to affect my quite badly. But i just have to trust in GOd. He is my strength, my fortress, my shelter. Let His love fills me so that my well will never be dry.
SAT:
Yes! I remember some of the things that I forgotten
Yes! Yes! Now i remember what are the other things that I did. I watched 2 movies. First was Mr and Mrs Smith. I watched this movie becoz that day i simply was bored and this was the only show that was available at that time. Hmmm! Better than I expected. I tot i was in for a show of a couple with MDW. Ka boom here and there! But guess what? Only about 20% of the movie involves that. Finally one movie that tries to give substance in its plot. Well there was a twist at the near end of the movie and i will give a 3 1/2 stars out of 5 for the plot. The shooting scenes are abit lame where Pitt and Jolie were dancing-shooting. My goodness. Thkfully they didn't dance to the Para Para. Pretty entertaining and I would recommend people to watch if they are fans of either stars or they simply ran out of movies to watch. haha.
The next movie i watched was The Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy. Guess wat? It's one of those another das that I had nothing to do and this was the only movie available at that time. Hehe! THIS IS REAL WASTE OF MONEY. LAME JOKE, STUPID SCI-FI THEORY, CHEAP ROMANCE, UGLY ALIEN-BEING, D- GRADE MOVIE. And the cinema was like only 6 of us in it. I'm sure the rest was feeling like erh erh erh. "Gong shi mi" (hokkien for 'wat are they talking abt') I think i will rest my case. You decide if you want to watch yourself.
And today went to watch Initial D with Daniel and Yvonne at TM GV. Didn't really know wat the movie is abt except tat it is abt racing and had Jay Chou and Edison in it. And Jay Chou is said to be a wooden-log actor. Haha. Well and yes true enough the show was abt racing. I will save your eyes from readin the story. You go watch the movie yourself
. Plot: */******
Humour ***/******
Acting skill requied */************************************************* hahahahahaha
Well tat's my opinion. YOu dun have to agree with me. Go and see it for yourself if you are not convinced.
Ok! Den what's inline for me. Madagascar. (not too much hope but i promised my frens we'll watch together)
Batman Begins (yes! yes! tat will be interesting to see why this hero decide to gear up his underwear-mask)
War of the World (has been long waiting for this movie. I want to see how Tom Cruise defeat the aliens)
Anymore shows. Hmmm! We shall see! So until den, keep your decision wise for now it is not cheap to watch a movie. So @#$#%#@ expensive. Weekday 7 bucks. Thursday 8 bucks. Weekend 9 bucks. ANd the POP CORN ARE 8 BUCKS. MY GOODNESS. ONE FINE DAY, I THINK IT WILL BE CHEAPER FOR ME TO TAKE A TRAIN TO JB TO WATCH A MOVIE. OR MAYBE NEXT TIME YOU NEED A COE TO BE ENTITLED TO WATCH A MOVIE. Ok! Ok! I'm cool. I'm calm. take a deep breath. Haha!

Next thing
Actualli i tot i got lots of things to update but i guess i'm wrong. Age is catching up and the brains dun seems to function like before. It is taking way too much nap and way too long to think. Ai yah! I remembered i was studying v hard for my exams. Puke! I just feel that I'm better off as a farmer or peasant somewhere else in the country side. Peace and quiet. Easy-going. Singing in the fields. (well i'm not very sure if that will affect the crops' growth) Milking the cows. Staring into the diamond-filled sky. Wow! What a beautiful sight! And i guess the pasture is always greener on the other side. IF i was really tat farmer, I most probably complained that life is so routine and boring and really hope I could go out into the world and exposed myself to all the challenges. Life is a paradox, if one is not contended. SO i guess, it still best to be contended and give thanks to God for everything becoz God knows the best for us.
Ok! I remember i miss the youth camp at All Saints' Church becoz of my exams. It was an evangelistic outreach camp and i had always wanted to go to such camp, firstly to encounter the work of God and secondly, to learn how to run such camp. And also i just love to see people responding to God and going forth to accept Christ. It's not so much of self-satisfaction but i rejoice with the Angels when children of God return back to Him. But some of the youths went down as assistant leaders. And I really pray that God has done some 'things' in their life too. I hope that they dun go for such camp, enjoy the 'sensation' and then it is lost. But I prayed that the Lord will touch their hearts and really feel the compassion to spread His word. You dun need to be an evangelist to evangelise. In our daily life's encounter with our loved ones, let's us seize that opportunity to show them the Light.
Yes! the next thing is the family camp. It was from 12 June- 15June. As i had a paper on 15, i could onli stayed until 14June. First nite was relatively free and easy. Had a youth gathering at nite, den after tat, stayed a bit longer in Daniel's room to watch Ru Hua! haha! Evil! Den next morning was a hectic day for me. In fact, I considered a horrendous day for me. I was supposed to lead worship for the morning and evening session. And during the morning ice-breaker, I acted too garang and shouted at the top of my voice to create atmosphere. Yah rite. Act smart and act cute! Ended up i lost my voice and i couldn't lead worship but have no choice. I lead with such broken voice that i felt like ending my life. Well! NOt much of choice. Carried on leading. Then followed by Rev. Wong's message about Affirming our brothers and sisters in Christ. After that, we had lunch and went to the Theme Park. Went to the dry one. First time taking theme ride and very excited. Of all the rides, the Lost in the Gold City and the Tomahawk were the best. In fact, Tomahawk was the killer. It rotates 360 degree. I nearly puke. Drank too much during lunch. Then some of the youths v funny. Xin Ling was like "MA MI, I WILL NEVER DARE TO TAKE THE RIDE AGAIN". Oh my goodness. I tot she broke out into tears. Den thankfully every ride, i sat with Ding Yi. Becoz both of us are of substantial volume and when we sit together, we kinda act as cushion for one another and we restricted each other from moving about too much in the seats. haha. After tat we went to take 3 water rides. COol man! I'm loving it. But after the rides, i regretted taking it. I shouted too much AGAIN! Well you shd know wat that means. Den I had injured my back before and the rides are real bad for the back. End up having a slight back pain. So I shdn't say much abt the Evening worship svc. Den there was ministry time and i wasn't prepared and i didn't have enough songs. OH! MY! What a mess! But thkfully David was there to salvage. Despite all these big 'hu ha', i still give thks to God for His grace and mercy. Then tat nite didn't go for supper becoz was a bit down. Dun know why. Not sure if it is becoz of the worship session but somehow i felt that i went to the camp not well prepared. I meant more on the Spiritual side. That's something for me to take note when i go for camp again. The heart and spirit must be right.
Then next morning, after the morning session and the games, I left with David and Veron. Reached S'pore abt 6.30pm. Then slept and woke up to study for exams.
Actualli, those youths who are out there reading my blog. I just wan to tell you something. I have been trying to teach you all something. Though i did it discreetly but it is actually quite frequent so it is not tat hard to miss. And i say this with no pride that i also do it by example. And i hope you all can see it and its value and you yourself embrace that value. I won't tell you what it is. The only clue i will give is that I do it after nearly every major events. I ask last year youth mission team members to do SOMETHING for some people after the trip. I ask most of the youths to do SOMETHING for some people after the Easter Outreach. I ask the youths that went for the camp to do SOMETHING to someone. I did something to the people who help out in the WOrship during the camp. I hope you all can see that value becoz it may not matter much to you but it matters alot to other people. And i guess this is the first lesson we learn during the camp - Affirmation. Well! it's for you to go and figure out. And if you want an answer, you can always check with me. No prize for right answer!

I'm back with alot of missing things in my life
Woah! Finally, I'm back and I just love to update on all the missing things during my absence of about a month. BUt guess what? I dun seemed to be able to remember most of the things. I think i can only update according to what i can recall and it may not be in the right order. Hehe. Let me see!
I could remember the Crossroad Adventure. Held on one of the saturdays. Basically it is a competition where the teams have to compete to finish the food race. But the trick to the game is you got to link the last word of the food to the first word of the next food. And it goes on until the last and final dish. The first 4 dishes were pre-fixed. Maybe i introduce my team. My team got Ding Yi, Xin Ling, Yvonne, Jamie, Joanne. Within our own team, we played UNO and the loser of the round will get to miss one of the dish. COol! Then the first dish was to go to Bedok Central and look for a Holloywood Dessert stall. Suppose to eat Chendol. I kinda of cheated. I 'ta bao' (packet) the chendol, took the next clue and left with my team. Charles had to call me and tell me gently that that was against the rule. I cheekily smiled and said I dun know. Haha! Then the next stall was at Upper East Coast Road. Suppose to eat Yong Tau Fu but the stall is closed. So ended eating Thosai. Expensive boy! One normal thosai cost us 4 bucks. After the thosai, we move further down to a Chicken Rice Stall where we eat their Steam fish with bean sauce. Waited for quite a while but it's worth the waiting. Splendid dish, i would have to say. But not cheap! A small slice for 5 bucks. Then we headed for our last pre-fixed dish Katong Laksa. Ok not too bad. Eaten a few times so nothing special. Then we got our last clue. Ginger -based soup Rice Ball. Anyway the game is played in Mandarin. So from now and the next 3 dish, we must link the first word of the dish to the next and goes on until the 9th dish must end up as the Ginger-based soup Rice Ball. Well my group wasn't very imaginative, so we keep it simple and our first dish is Coarse Suger, den followed Sweet, den Chilled-Fruit Juice, Chilled Soya Bean Milk, which den the last dish was at Bedok North. By the time we reached there, we tot tat we may be the third or fourth. But to our surprise, we were first. Haha. Then after tat, we headed off to the final destination where we will have BBQ for dinner. Erh! After such a hectic race, i'm not sure if my 'warehouse' is ready to store any more things. 10min after reaching the venue, the next team came in and another 5 the next. Then we kinda waited for another hour before the rest of the teams came in. I guess they all tried to be too creative. Becoz teams with creative items on their list will get extra bonus point. After BBQ, the results were announced. Though my team came in first we didn't get first becoz there was a team who got the bonus point for their extraordinary dish, Claypot-frog legs. Haha. Maybe i shd have gone for Steam fish with earthworm kinda dish. Haha. But honestly, it wasn't really important for me to win the race or not. But from this race, I was very pleased to hear 2 things. Initially, when the group was formed, i jokingly told my team members that i nvr won a race, just like the previous race, Amazing Race! Everybody laughed at the remarks except for Ding Yi. He told me and i believe quite seriously, that this time will be different becoz this time the team has me and him. Both of us will make a difference. I was really touched by what he said and also very proud becoz of his confidence. Then another thing was during the race, I briefly mentioned that the next time the organiser shd organise on a bigger scale den it will be more fun. Then some of my team members replied saying that it's no point for them becoz by the next time, they would have most probably been put in charge to run the race. I thank God that they see a continuity in themselves in the YOuth Ministry. The youth ministry will not end with the Youth advisor but they the youths are starting to see a need to carry on the good work that God has started in the Youth Ministry. I praised the Lord for such thoughtful and selfless youths.

Just For Fun 3
Your Birthdate: August 20 |
| Your birth on the 20th day of the month adds a degree of emotion, sensitivity, and intuition to your reading. The 2 energy provided here is very social, allowing you to make friends easily and quickly. Yet you are apt to have a rather nervous air in the company of a large group. You have a warmhearted nature and emotional understanding that constantly seeks affection. You are very prone to become depressed and moody, as emotions can turn inward and cause anxiety and mental turmoil. It can be hard for you to bounce back to reality when depression sets in. When things are going well, you can go just as far the other way and become extremely affectionate. |

Matthew 28:19
I'm sure this verse is well-known to most of us. Matthew 28:19, the Great Commission. And to all those Sale agents, dun get too happy. It has nothing to do with your year end bonus. This is in fact an instruction from our Lord, Jesus Christ, to go forth to the world and spread His teachings and help people to walk in His light. And this brought me the memories when I first went to Cambodia for my first mission trip.
It was in the year of 2002. I went for 2 weeks starting from the last week of Nov to the first week of Dec. I didn't know what to expect because I had nvr really visited nor seen any 3rd world country. I am not sure if i could adapt to the condition and I hope that what ever training I went thru in the army would come in handy. But I just knew tat i just had to trust in God. When we left S'pore and reached Cambodia, we met Rev Mok and his wife, Mee Hwa. Less than a few hours, we loaded onto the 4-wheel-drive truck and set off to the province of Pursat which was nearly 6 hours ride away from Phnom Penh. And the road was dusty (dirt road) and the bumpy (pothole). At the end of the ride, my bum felt firmy. By evening time, we reached the first village, Phum Themai. The next morning, we took motorbikes into the our destinated village, Syaet Borei. The bikes went thru padi fields, forested areas and after an hour, we reached the village. I told myself i will nvr sit in a bike ever again. I would rather walk. Then the first week was to make a concrete flooring underneath the church in the village. As the materials for the cement mix was insufficient, the next few days, some of us have to travel out to get the pebbles and sand. It was really harsh work. But i really enjoyed it and to see the final product was very fulfilling. At the end of that week, we left the village and yes, without any choice, i took the bike out of the village. Then we set off back to Phnom Penh. The first team left while i stayed on to wait for the nex team. And again we set off to Pursat and den took the BIKE into Syaet Borei again. This time, the team is doing Christmas Outreach and we did a mime, helped out in Children Ministry and it was indeed a fruitful trip.
At the end of the trip, as i reflected, I see that i adapted pretty well and in fact I love Cambodia. And I somehow feel a passion for the people. I'm not sure if it is Cambodia that God wants to send me into but I'm pretty sure that God has a purpose for me in the mission field. It's just a matter of time only. So meanwhile, just have to keep myself in shape and let the Lord continue to mould me.
And on Sunday, Rev Mok and Mee Hwa were back in town. They were back to settle some stuff and on tat Sunday held a Prayer meeting for Cambodia. Many people came but SACC was the main 'shareholders'. Haha. We were there to pray for the staff in Cambodia and also to pray for more people internally and externally to rise up and help out in the ministry. Also prayed for the activities and programs. I am really glad to have know Rev Mok and Mee Hwa. They are really a couple with great faith and love for God. It's nearly a decade since they left home and set off to a faraway land. It must not have been easy for them but then after all these years, one could see that the Lord is faithful and doing many great things thru them. I really prayed that I could be as bold as them. Lord, not my will, but Yours be done!
Matthew 28:19-20
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[a] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age

When Death met Creator!
Well it has been a while I update my blog. Guess I'm busy studying for my exams just like many of you all. Or rather I'm trying to look busy studying for my exams. Haha. Nah! I'm really studying. Stress! O.o" Nothing much happen to me the week before. Except for a few 'accident'. Haha. On saturday, had worshp pract in church. So the team was testing sound and I decided to go over to Chapel to see if the sound was too loud. As the Chapel is locked, I entered thru the store room that was linked from the MPH to the Chapel. As I entered the Chapel, my hand happily swung the door close. And the door can either only opened from inside the room or a key if from the Chapel. ARGGGGGGHHHHHHHH! I was trapped in Chapel. Thkfully, I was calm and i started banging on the door frantically. But to no avail. Then i called David, nvr picked up den I called Gary and thkfully his phone is with him. He came to my rescued. Haha. The things that I nvr imagined myself doing. Haha.
I guess the moment of the week was on Sunday. Beside leading 2 sessions of worship, I was also at Leng Leng's mum encoffining svc. After the svc as the coffin was driven out and the relatives and frens followed behind. I was looking from afar and somehow I started to tear. I didn't know Leng's mum in personal but somehow I felt grieved. Grieved not becoz of fear of death but rather the feeling of losing someone important.
I remembered when I was very young, there was this incident where I cried so badly because I was scared of death. I didn't know where i would go when I die. I was pretty young in faith at that time. And I had no idea why i suddenly thought of that. It could have been God talking to me. Haha! But now, I gave thks to God because we are people of hope and need not fear death. But rather death should be joyous ocassion becoz we know that the race is completed and there will no longer be pain and suffering.
I also remembered when my 2nd elder sister passed away, I shed no tear. Not because I felt nothing. In fact, I was very close to her and I was really very young at that time. 9 yrs old. I tried to cry but just couldn't. I believe that God was there with me and He had somehow or rather assured me that my sister is safe with Him and I need not worry nor grieved.
After hearing what i say, you all may think that I definitely look forward to my death bed. Haha. Actually not really! I'm not contradicting myself. It is just that since i'm assured that death is merely going back to my Creator, I think it is more important to look at the days that we have on earth. How am I going to spend these years? I definitely want to spend it wisely and we really need the Lord's guidance and wisdom. I prayed hard that when I lie on my final bed and take my last breath, the Lord is pleased and draws me to Him saying, "Good and faithful servant" Amen!

Where is the barber?
A man went to a barbershop to have his hair cut andhis beard trimmed. As the barber began to work, they began to have a good conversation. They talked about so many things and various subjects. When they eventually touched on the subject of God, thebarber said: "Idon't believe that God exists.""Why do you say that?" asked the customer."Well, you just have to go out in the street to realize that God doesn't exist. Tell me, if Godexists, would there be so many sick people? Wouldthere be abandoned children? If God existed, there would be neither suffering nor pain. I can't imagine a loving God who would allow all of these things."The customer thought for a moment, butdidn't respondbecause he didn't want to start an argument. The barber finished his job and the customer left the shop. Just after he left the barber shop, he saw a man in the street with long, stringy, dirty hair and an untrimmed beard. He looked dirty andunkempt. The customer turned back and entered the barber shop again and he said to the barber: "Youknow what? Barbers do not exist.""How can you say that?" asked the surprised barber. "I am here, and I am a barber. And I justworked on you!""No!" the customer exclaimed. "Barbersdon't exist because if they did, there would be no people withdirty long hair and untrimmed beards, like that man outside.""Ah, but barbers DO exist! " answered the barber."What happens, is, people do not come to me.""Exactly!"- affirmed the customer. "That'sthe point! God, too, DOES exist! What happens, is, people don'tgo to Him and do not look for Him. That's why there's so much pain and suffering in the world."
I had read this many times but i always forgot the ending. But i tot tat this is a very good illustration to share with people about God. But for us to take note is tat, even when we know God, we still will be face with sufferings and pain. We are still pretty much in the world like before knowing God. But after knowing God, our trust and confidence is in God. Even through our trials and tough times, we know that our God is faithful and will deliver us through.

21 - 24 Apr (Thu - Sun)
21 Apr (Thu)
My dad was warded into SGH to prepare him for operation on Friday. He went in during the noon. As I had class, I could only visit him in the evening. Caught a cab, swung by to grab my sis den went to SGH. My mum was with my dad when we met him. Then we went for a quick munch at the Kopi Tiam. He was still quite positive but I knew deep in him, he was worried sick. I know he was worried if the operation will succeed or not. Then Pastor Priscilla came and visited him. Had a chat with him and before leaving, prayed for him. I was not feeling very right. My soul felt very down. Though I had earlier said that I could not feel as much for my dad, somehow or rather, knowing that he will be goin under the knife, hurt me too. And knowing his worries, make me feel very sad.
22 Apr (Fri)
My mum, sis and I visited my dad in the morning before he went for his operation. Though he seems normal, I could sense his worries and fears. After a while, the nurse came and prepared him for the operation. After he was wheeled into the theatre, mum, sis and I went to have a drink. After which i left for church to give tuition to Calvin while mum and sis went to walk around. After that we met again at about 5pm and dad was not out yet. The doc said the op will be abt 3-4 hrs but it has been nearly 5 hrs. Kinda freaking out my sis and mum. But finally he was pushed out and delivered to ICU. We managed to catch a glimpse of him outside the ICU. He was still unconcious but seems like he was waking up. Could see that he was struggling, i guess in pain and dun know why it was emotionally upsetting. Somehow or rather, I could feel his pain. Tears were filling my eyes. I remembered the precious time when i was hospitalised, he told me that he was too near to tears. I brushed that comment off as something which he exaggerated. But now I knew what he meant and felt. It was a long day for the whole family and we all retired home.
25 Apr (Sat)
Woke up early to prepare worship and word time for youth fellowship. Then went to church to give tuition to Wei Ren. Then followed by worship practise. After which had a talk with the youth worship team abt helping to lead worship for the month of May. Thkfully almost all of them agreed to it. And really glad that they take the step of faith. I know it may be very taunting and uncomfortable for them to lead worship without any experience. But the whole idea is for them to have a feel of leading worship. It's not so much abt whether at the end did they lead a superb worship or not. But rather, more importantly, is that are they able to trust in God to help them. And I believe for those who takes this step of faith will emerge a stronger person. Then i lead worship for the youth fellowship alone that Saturday. Kinda disatrous. Haha. Couldn't really focus. But still thk God for His grace. Then went into word time. Again only Ding Yi and Jason. Not a complaint but actually gladful that both of them make the effort to come. Theme was still on beattitudes. Matt 5:7 "Blessed are the merciful for they will be shown mercy" Once again, it's a value that the world dun embrace. And that's what our Lord is teaching. To give pple not just 2nd chance but many chances. Not to step on those who had fallen but to lend a helping hand to them. To forgive becoz we were being forgiven first. Yes! It is not easy to be merciful becoz honestly the world will nvr be merciful to us. But let's follow the footsteps of Christ for He first show mercy to us.
After the youth fellowship, rushed back home in a cab to fetch mum then went hospital to see dad. He was still in ICU and after a few minutes with him, he was tired and kinda chase us out. Then mum and i took a cab home. I then went to meet up Daniel and the rest in Tampines Central. Hang around at Mc, before going home.
24 Apr (Sun)
Woke up early as playing at worship today. Well everything went quite smoothly but i still can't hear myself. Really hard for me to play if i can't hear myself. I'm sound deficient. And to have like a few instruments playin at the same time, it makes it even harder to listen. Haiz! wat to do! No talent means no talent! haha! Then after service was AGM. 2 and a half hour! Phew! Then went to TM to eat at LJS with Daniel, Xin Ling, Yvonne, Jamie and Magdalene. After that I went back church to meet sis before swinging back home to fetch mum den visited dad. He was now transferred fr ICU to High Dependency Ward. He was more energetic than the few days before. But still can see that he was v weak. After a while, we were chased away by him again. Went home in a cab.

17 Apr (Sun)
Today woke up at 7.45am. Preparing to go for church. Then left house with my sis and took a cab down to church. Today, I would be attending the Mandarin Svc. I missed the beginning of the sermon becoz went to look for Ding Yi. He disappeared half way thru the worship. Tot tat he got lost. Haha. FOund him at Children Min. He suppose to help out. After much relief, went back to Chapel and the sermon started. Didn't get the topice but from the rest of the sermon, i believe it is about what our life is like. The preacher mentioned 3 things that our life is like.
Firstly, our life is like a mirror. We are initially a piece of uneven mirror and what we reflect are not truthful and realistic. But as we let Jesus come into our life, He is like a tool that will help to even up the uneveness on the mirror. Then as time goes by our life will reflect a clearer and more reaslistic image. And at the same time we will also reflect the characters of God.
Secondly, our life is like the wheat. A kernel of wheat may seem nothing much but in fact its potential is great. When the time is ripe, it will bear into fields of wheat. In John 12:24, it says "I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds" Likewise our life shd die so that Jesus can enter our life and result in not just renewal of life but also greater harvest.
Thirdly, our life is like a butterfly. A butterfly start off as a caterpillar which nobody admire or adore. The caterpillar after its eating feast, turn itself into a cocoon . In the cocoon, the genes of the butterfly manipulate the cell to devour all the cells of the caterpillar. This is not to kill the caterpillar but to fully transform itself into a butterfly which is greatly appreciated and admired by people. The gene of the butterfly is like Jesus. And the cells of the caterpillar are like our pasts. In order to be fully transformed, we need Jesus to eat up our past. Then when the caterpillar is no more, what is left is a butterfly reflecting the characters of Jesus.
Life is not easy but it's not impossible or beyond what we can bear. But we need Jesus to be in our life. Unless we die to ourself and allow Jesus to take control, our life will be lived in vain. So brothers and sisters, let us look to our God who is faithful and loving and hold on to the promise He has given to us. Live a life for our God.

16 April (sat)
YEEAAAAHHHHHHHHH! Small group outing. My group and Claudia's and Khim's group going to Kayak at East Coast Park. Finally we are going to Kayak after much failed attempt. Haha. But we are meeting quite early in the morning becoz we wanted to miss the sun. Meeting at Tampines Interchange Small MacDonald at 7.30am. And I make a big mistake on the nite before the outing. At 11pm, I was about to sleep but the weather was hot. So I decided to make myself an Iced Moccha. Bad choice. After that I could only sleep at 12am. Then I woke up at 2.30 am and couldn't sleep. I literally lied in bed wide awake unti l 5am before sliding into a short nap. Officially woke up at 6.30am, got myself prepared and left house. Reached there at about 7.20am. Then as usual, there will be people who will be blur blur and come late. I thinked we left Mac at about 8am. When we reached there, it was about 8.45am. We met auntie Khim at East Coast Mac. Then we set off to find the Kayak place. Yes you heard me correctly, find the Kayak place. So from Mac, it's either left or right as nobody know where exactly is the location. Nobody WANT to give a suggestion, so i took upon myself to decide. Right. Well! Bad choice. Walked for 20 min then i told the rest to stop while i carried on. After i walked on 20 min, i called Claudia saying that it's most probably the wrong direction, so going to turn back and they asked somebody who confirmed that's it is on the other side. Haha. Yes! Well done! I actually hate to make guesses. I'm ver y bad at such 'ti kam ti kam' stuff. It's like in exam when I have uncertainty on a MCQ, i could never 'ti kam ti kam' the answer becoz I always get wrong. Even if it's only 2 options, i will always choose the wrong one. Haha. So when it comes to such situation, nvr give me the liberty to choose becoz I WILL CHOOSE THE WROND ONE. ^0^ Muahahahahaaahhahha.
So we walked back to Mac, and they decided to either blade or cycle. I choose blade since it's a long time i had bladed. But I always had this prob. My feet is too broad and it is flat feet. So the side of the feet is always subjected to more pressure and weight and it will have an excruciating pain. But I still love to blade becoz it really make me feel like i can fly. Pigs flying? Haha. Khim, Claudia, Yvonne, Zhengda and me chose blading while Xin Ling, Jason and Jasmine chose cycling. Then Khim, Claudia, Ah Da and me went to the learners' corner. It seemed like it's the first few tries for Claudia and Khim. Haha. Tried to help them though i am no much better. I didn't fall but in the process of not falling, I did some 'stunts'. Then after we were done, Khim left first followed by Claudia, Jasmine and Ah Da. So the rest of us make our way to Bedok SOuth for lunch before going to Khim's place. Took a bath then went to help her make cake and bread. Was making a chococlate cake and custard bun. Hehe. Was a lot of fun. I really love to bake though i dun bake at home. Too much of a trouble and my mum always find it very messy. Then it's a sum of money to be spent. So most of the time i prefer to help and bake at people's house. Then the buns that i make, Auntie Khim say got 'backside'. Didn't close up all the openings. haha. Then when the bun was done, no time to bake so had to bring it over to Lydia's place to bake. Reached Lydia's place and alreadi baked some pizzas. Then the whole ntie was makan and makan. Muahahahahahahha. Then I tried to do some magic trick which was seen thru by the youths. Haiz. I tot it was a good magic trick but i guess i'm just simply not good enough. Nvr mind. I will do the sawing trick the next time round. I bet you all can see thru it. Haha. Get it, see thru it See thru the person I had saw up into half. HAHAHAHHA. Ok not funny! Then some of them wanted to play "Dai Di" but the house rules didn't permit. But i'm proud that the youths didn't try to break the rule. They could have just not be bother with the rule and just play until they get caught but they didn't. Prasie the Lord for all these righteous and rule-abidding youths. Then at the end, had a short worship and a time of sharing and testimony. Felt very touched by the youths coming up to share their experience and what they see God is doing. And my prayer is that the youths will continue to uphold their Lord and faithfully follow His way. Keep up the good work for the race will bear many fruits beyond your imagination.
